Saturday January 25 2025 saw 24 ladies gather bright and early at the Arnprior Curling Club to curl in the always fun Vyvienne Johnston Ladies Bonspiel sponsored by the Johnston family.

It was a full day of activities.  Upon arrival the ladies were treated to coffee, tea and pastries to start the day.  The curlers were divided into six teams with each playing two 6-end games.  In between the morning and afternoon draws, the participants enjoyed a lovely lunch provided by Sandee’s County Kitchen.  As per tradition, the lunch was served by five gentlemen from the club.  Thanks to Bruce Heino, Dave McLean, Gord Ward, Kerry Papineau and Brent Gordon for their excellent support to the event.

Although the social aspect of the event plays a big part, there was also a competitive element. The day ended with recognition of the excellent curling and the presentation of pins to the first and second place teams.  The gold pin was presented to Team McCLain ( L-R Dana-Lynn Wood,  Lisa McClain, Janine Drinnan and Lorna Watkins)

Team Noden ( L-R Fawn Bott, Lori Noden, Karen Dotto and Michelle Chaplin) won the silver.

The day was a success both on and off the ice, raising a significant amount for the club. A big THANK YOU  to Patty Lesway and her team of volunteers who once again made this a memorable event!
